The Zodiac Animals and the Five Elements

The Chinese Zodiac is based on the rotation of stars and planets in our solar system. There is a 60 year cycle made up of a 12 Zodiac patterns of animals times a rotation of the Five Elements: water, wood, fire, earth and metal. In 2022, we welcome the Water Tiger, but when the Tiger’s year rolls around again in 2034, it will be the Year of the Wood Tiger; in 2046, it will be the Fire Tiger; in 2058, it will be the Earth Tiger; and in 2070, it will be the Metal Tiger. In each repetition of the Tiger’s years, a somewhat different set of characteristics will emerge.

What’s the “Tai Sui” (“Tie Sway” or “Tie Su-ey”)?

There is a very important planet that influences each year within the 60 year cycle, and it is called the Tai Sui, or the Grand Duke Jupiter represented by different personalities. In Chinese Astrology, the Tai Sui can bring you good fortune some years, and bad luck in other years. Mention of the Tai Sui usually refers to the bad luck side of the coin, however. The really good news is that the Water Tiger’s Tai Sui is an ancient military hero, General He E. The general discovered treasure after conquering a village, and yet unselfishly gave it to the Emperor, convincing him to not raise the taxes on his people. Even better, one of the general’s duties was managing a province that was suffering from a plague, and he used his army to do successfully quell the disease. Could this amazing selfless, compassionate, and successful hero help us today with our pandemic? We have great hope that this will be the case, and Covid-19 will be quelled, as well. Furthermore, it suggests that the world will have good leaders who care for their people. There is hope for an improvement in the down economy caused by the pandemic, as well.

Another Challenging Star

Because of a negative star that resides in the northeast, this will be an area to not change this year. Put off remodels in this area of your home or office to another year, and avoid replacing windows, doors, or drilling into walls in the northeast. Particularly important is to avoid adding a swimming pool, bathroom, or even a sink in the area this year as well, as we don’t want to disturb the turbulent water element. This year it’s vitally important to consider the welfare of others, rather than solely working toward your own gain in life. You could otherwise find yourself on the receiving end of a great deal of bad luck.

Take Care Around Metal

You are cautioned to be careful around metal this year, as metal feeds water. You are further encouraged to take extra care when driving, when you are surrounded by metal in your car. Focus specifically on driving, rather than talking on the phone, texting (of course), driving when overly tired, or driving while under the influence. You are encouraged to employ a safe driving cure in your car. Consult a feng shui consultant for this cure.

Good news!

Creativity, abundance, and compassion will be strongly felt in the world beginning in April, 2022. Enjoy it while it remains, as it unfortunately won’t last forever! Doing good deeds, taking part in one of the Three Happiness Events (a wedding, the birth of a child, moving to a new home,) and giving blood are all excellent ways to lessen or eliminate the effect of negatives in your life. Carrying a lucky charm is another great way to diminish bad luck. Lastly, be smart, be compassionate, and stay safe by using some restraint in your actions.
