Three Simple Feng Shui Cures to Do Right Now to Improve Your Life
Are you uncertain of the validity of feng shui? How can it really work, when you add a picture of water or a heavy object to a particular part of your home or office? Magic just happens and things improve?
My story: Feng Shui Works!
I wrote in the last entry about my history of feng shui training, but why did I desire training in this unique field of study? Here’s my story:
My sister abruptly hung up on me. Our cherished life-long bond had suddenly become frayed. Having just completed my initial feng shui training, I made some adjustments in my home. My sister called back within hours of its completion, and I could feel the energy had completely shifted back into the loving relationship that I desired. I was able to experience the effectiveness of feng shui first hand, and on an emotional level experience the joy of a close kinship.
That was an amazing affirmation that I had taken the right path. Since then I’ve helped countless clients change their lives by altering their spaces using the art and science of feng shui.
Three Simple Changes to improve your life:
1. Make the entry to your home warm and welcoming.
Whether you are living in an expansive estate or a tiny apartment, your main entry is considering the “Mouth of Ch’i.” Just as any living being must take in air to breathe and maintain its life force, your home must also take in energy. It’s considered the most important area of your home.
Take a morning to sweep off the porch, remove the cobwebs and wash the light fixture(s) so that it invites ch’i (energy) into your home. If you live in a condo or apartment, make sure the route is well-lit and clean. Add a potted plant (or 3) if space provides and there’s enough natural light. Ideally, the pathway to your front door should be curved, but be certain that it’s apparent to guests (and ch’i) exactly where to walk to get to your front door. Trim back any plants that have grown too much and narrowed the pathway.
On the interior, again make certain the entry is clutter-free, welcoming, well-lit and beautiful.
2. Move your bed into “Command” position.
Place your bed so that when lying on your back in bed, you can see the door to your bedroom, but are not in direct line with it.
Having your bed in this position simply means that you will sleep better than you ever have before, because you will feel more “in command” of your life. Try it- you’ll be amazed!
3. Make sure your home, inside and out are well-lit.
It’s great to have a home that has a lot of natural light with plenty of windows. Make certain that you can open up heavy/light reducing window coverings to let the sunshine (or at least light) into your space.
After sunset, lamps and recessed lights can take over to provide the Ch’i to continue to flow naturally throughout your home.
